My Fallen Hero

When at uni l created a short film relating to this, called it ‘My fallen hero’ this still feels as relevant as when l created it then.

Purfleet Brasserie,Kings Lynn - original artwork on display all year round.

While relaxing over a freshly prepared meal  or over  a few drinks why not  enjoy original artwork from local  Norfolk artist. The Brasserie is a relaxed and friendly restaurant.

New life in Kings Lynn my birth place.

After a lot of soul searching I finally made the decision to return to my home town of kings Lynn in Norfolk. After losing both my parents in 2020 l felt very detached from Felixstwe, even though l have some lovely friends l felt alone.   Found a lovely new home I and my best friend Loui, then the challenge of looking for a good fit for my art which I found in ‘The Place’ a space the can are used on casual bases.    'The Place' in New Conduct Street, Kings Lynn..

continue my journey

All for sale  8th June 2021 Am looking to study for my MA fine arts 🎨 been thinking about it for years now trying to justify why l should do,keep thinking it's a lot of money but as l have some money at moment think thus is my chance.  Sitting in my favourite coffee shop blue & berry, have some  paintings on the wall, the feeling is amazing  mum & dad would be proud lm sure. Am off to an artist retreat end of month staying in a 18th century windmill for a few days so no disruption from life phone will be switched off .

New chapter my fallen hero has fallen!

New chapter in my thoughts regarding my dad who sadly passed away on 29th April 2020 all alone in his home, this was always his wish to "leave in a box " in his own words. sadly we never made up although l reached out lots of times. Unfortunately my mum also passed away in 2020 as well on Christmas day evening after a stroke, this hit me very hard and felt unable to be creative for a while but my mum was my biggest fan and would kick my bum if l did not continue on this journey of mine so am starting a personal development course in Illustration, its something l have also wanted to try.

New chapter page 1

Ok so the pandemic has been a real eye opener for most of us so been indoors like most sensible people(i hope). Been back to my favorite medium abstract paintings with a twist - printing on acetate which gives a lovely new definition to my work almost 2 to 3 D.

Started a mood canvas

Time passes

l have dyslexia please excuse any spelling or grammar mistakes ! 18/03/2020 Sitting in my favourite  coffee shop Blue and Berry in Felixstowe , such a lovely place for me to write my blog, been thinking how to  document my chain of thoughts that don’t come across rambling but love the idea l am having a conversation with someone , you jump from different subjects. Think this maybe why l call my abstract art ‘Shadows’ its how l feel about dad, shadows of memories of time with him, although he was not an absent farther like my daughters dad, he was emotionally absent in my life. The unintentional connection with chairs l have found within my practice, why l am drawn to them, l have spent my whole life sitting on chairs either for an appointment at hospital or sitting out of something l could not do because my stump was hurting or maybe because l was deemed unable to do whatever sport or activity was on at time. Remember mum saying ‘go look down the sides of dads ch...
work in progress - painting in different mediums

New work

well new year so has to be new work, am showing at The Thrifty  Thistle in Felixstowe so take a look.  Am also starting new subjects for Art on the prom in September so must get on . Am also approaching new company on line l really want to be more self employed with my illustration but must do more sketching so that's my new game plan.
Been working on some more images for my portfolio of illustration's - really enjoy the challenge of coming up with fun   stories to go along with some of the images..

Im back !!

Well its been a long time but l finally feel l must continue this journey l am on with new challengers l face - start my MA in Art Practice in Sept and really looking forward to that. This is something l am also enjoying sketching for illustration work.. I also have been having some issues with my leg - its missing any one seen it please return as l miss it...
Start of a new week and feel l may be geting some where, filmed myself in my normal every day life and realise how l manage. Its amazing how you take things for granted in your every day existance untill you start to analyse it. Been thinking how my degree show should be contructed and feel that less is more so will try and keep it simple.

Ok next chapter in my art !! My Dissertation !!

Thanks to mother nature am nursing a nasty chest infection so as l am in bed l have been reading my research books and feel l am making a break through. Ok so my title is Theatricality within contemporary art but have  also been looking at the space   these artist use, space   and why they  choice it?  are they drawn to the area around them or maybe its a emotional choice. Kabakov says the the "viewer finds himself in side of it, engrossed in it" walls are required to separate the viewer from the external world much like a picture frame of the edge of a painting.
Ok Im back after 4 months of studying and have made it to my last year at uni, so now this has to count if l am to get my degree. Dissertation title is Theatricality as a theme in Contemporary Art, looking at Instalation artists Mike Nelson, Illya Kabakov and Gregor  Schneider. These artist stage rooms for the spectator to walk through and feel the present of who lived there.
Box city - we all use box's in our every day life but why ?
Well l seem to be losing my way with Art, I seem to be hitting blocks each turn l make lm not sure l really wont to be an artist any more its so hard to keep up the creative work. Think l need to go back to basics, pencil and paper and just draw like l use to. wish me luck. will let you know how it goes...
Not been on blogging  lately,  been a hectic at university,  started  looking at  collaboration which has been very interesting but frustrating as no one seems to want to respond so lets hope l get a good mark for trying.
